From the vineyard of “married” vines, at the end of August, I harvest the red varieties (mostly Sanforte and Sangiovese). With these grapes I make a rosé wine, with a deep color, and all based and freshness and readiness. For me, GemmaRosa is the wine for the summer.
TOSCANA ROSATO IGT
VIGNA: Cru Cozzano “Cibino”. Century old vines that are married to field maples
TERRENO: Loamy
VITIGNO: Sanforte, Sangiovese, and other unknown varieties
VENDEMMIA: End of August
VINIFICAZIONE: Grapes macerate with the skins for about 20 hours. After pressing, the fermentation with native yeast begins inside neutral oak barriques
AFFINAMENTO: In the same barriques for 5 months. Ageing in the bottle for 2 months ahead of release (the wine is unfiltered)
